Four Poets will represent St. Louis at the National
Poetry SLAM in Seattle, WA

Qualified Poets to compete for positions on the team:

Osiris StarGod, Julie Brueggemann, Elizabeth Vega, Kat
Mierek, Shannon Staloch, Chill da Playa, Linda Lawson,
Kanita, Poet, Meru SA-RA, Eric Ketzer, Karim Hameed,
AND … 

There is still time to qualify for the Grand SLAM!

Qualifying rounds will be held at regular Open Mics
around town.     
Qualifying Round Schedule:                
Monday, June 18th, 9:00pm at the Venice Café,
Pestalozzi & Lemp               
Tuesday, June 19th, 9:00pm at The Shanti, 9th Street &
Allen
Wednesday, June 20th, 9:00pm at Troy’s On the Park,
Park Ave.
Thursday - break - rest - regroup
Friday, June 22nd, 9:00pm at Legacy Books, Delmar
across from the Pageant

Monday, June 25th, 2001 at 8:00pm
Llywelyn’s Pub in the CWE, 4747 McPhearson 361-3003 

All competitions are audience judged. All proceeds
from competitions go to sending the St. Louis Slam
Team to the Nationals. 

See the completed team at the Rhythm and Words
Festival Saturday, July 14th, 2001 11am - 6pm in Old
Orchard, Webster Groves. Poetry, Dance, Drumming,
Children’s Activities, and fun for the whole Family.
Free Admission.

The St. Louis Poetry Slam! is presented in cooperation
with Intermission for the Arts, the Regional Arts
Commission, DiMBy, and Poetry Slam, Inc. The use of
the term “Poetry Slam” is only under license agreement
with PSI.  Sponsors include Left Bank Books, Barnes &
Nobles, Llywelyn’s Pub, and Coffee with the Stars.
