--------------------------SUMMARY----------------------------

Server Problems
Due to heavy load stallman has been having lots of problems.
Many people have had problems publishing articles, and
comments. Search is also broken. As a result more ram
has been ordered and some brave techies have gone on
query safari to capture and tame some errant sql.

Indymedia FAQ
The imc-process and general@indymedia.org working group
has put together a wonderful indymedia faq. It's been
	posted to the process site.

Search is broken
Ok, i'm sick of getting email about search being broken.
We know! Use google. Maybe if we get the queries under
control, add more ram, have traffic ease up, search
	will start working better.

Load Balancing Project - Edgenet
During the Tech_2 gathering Bill from London outlined
a project for distributed load balancing system.
Basically it's an interesting combination of squid, dns
tricks, and some human intervention in to a management
website. This project needs people to help work on it.

Memory Purchase
More memory for Stallman has been purchased! With this
additional 512 megs, stallman will have a full gig of
	ram.

Query Safari
Active hits the database too much.

New Upgrade Script
Kevin's written up a new upgrade script and procedure.

Push To Eye Problems
The scripts which move content over to the loudeye
(images.indymedia.org) server has been having problems.
Andy has been working to rewrite it. If you're noticing
your images disappear after about 10 minutes then
you're having a push to eye problem. Also we've been
having problems due to the directories getting
	too full.

Indymedia Over the Phone
It's not setup yet but the scripts are there to let
people listen to indymedia audio reports over the phone.

------------------------CODE UPDATES-----------------------

Mir Coders Meeting
Mir development has been continuing on the mir list and
development servers. It's good stuff but i don't think
there is anything ground breaking to announce just yet.

Active XML-RPC
More updates to active xml-rpc as version 0.9.2 is out.
This includes a filter handler API, thumbnails, loudeye
mirror handler, better make files, and more nifty stuff.
Idanso is going on vacation for 3 weeks to the US so
this is the last update for a while. If you've been waiting
for active xml-rpc to be stable for a while, now's the
time to take it for a spin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
The IMC-Tech summary is a semi-regular update on the activities of the
amorphous global imc-tech collective. By presenting a summary of some of
the discussions and activities of imc-tech we hope to inform the larger
indymedia community of our activities. This will help
promote transparency and lubercate the gears of our internal democratic
processes. All IMC mailinglists and working groups should be producing
regular summaries of their activities!
