[Imc-uk-process] A long goodbye to UK Indymedia

Following discussions at the UK IMC meeting in Sheffield, at the London
IMC group meeting and online, where many members of the UK collectives
voiced concerns about Tony Gosling and a wish to formally distance IMC
from him, and on top of the difficulties Bristol IMC has had with him
for some time, as agreed with people from UK groups, we as the Bristol
collective have been trying to sort this out, as per previous mails to
this list.

Obviously this was never going to be well received by Tony. There seems
little point in refuting the skewed views of the Bristol group that Tony
insists on putting forward, when the majority of this list are well
aware of the true position. I would like to confirm, though, that Tony
Gosling is, as he acknowledges at least, no longer part of Bristol IMC
collective, (although we have said that he is as welcome as any other
individual to post to the site, email the bristol list (as by jove he
has been doing by the tonne, needless to say) and/or come to public
meetings and events). Also, we have already begun devising collective
guidelines for future ref. and will share them with other IMCs if
interested.

As you can see from the link Tony suggests (copied below), the whole
wrangling is amply documented: the 'attack' referred to is the relaying
of the concerns voiced at the London meeting - from the wording you can
see the time we've been having of it round here. But one good thing has
been to see how well Bristol IMC can work together in such a complicated
position, so the suggestion that its all down to me and ian is
particularly off-beam. (not sure why I'm he's put me and ian in quote
marks like pseudonyms, but there you go...)

"You can view the heated BIMC public discussion about me for yourself
here if you wish
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-bristol/2004-March/date.html
I am 'Ecovillage Network UK' , 'ian' is the main person demanding my
exclusion from the editorial group. 'Kyra' launched the attack on me"

Oh well, lets just hope this is a genuine goodbye and the last of it.
Kyrax
