imc-communication is a bit different form other indymedia lists.
It is for inter-indymedia group communication

It is only list Indymedia groups are obliged to have someone on to be
recognised as part of indymedia global network.

Tony Cactus is there for Indymedia UK
I am on from Indymedia Scotland
Mike Tonks has just replaced Tony Gosling for Bristol Indymedia

One has to send an intro message to it to be subscribed to it, saying
what Indymedia group one is involved with. I thought it was just
liaisons but it can be anyone who sends in an intro to say what group
they are involved with that they will be passing on inter group message
from.

Those pending subscriptions are people who attempted to subscribe but
have not sent in an intro, or their intro has been missed by the list
admin. Me and Anna recently offered to help admin the list, the other
admins as listwork people one who went into to clear backlog. It would
help to have more admins and work out rota as the admin on this list is
more than others with having to watch out for intros. But me and Anna
can work out for now, so Mike Tonks it is good you have subscribed to
list as liaison for Bristol Indymedia and to have you help out with
admin of list would be a bonus but you don't need to.

I myself although global liaison for Indymedia Scotland don't follow
global indymedia discussion as much as one would need to keep on top of
it. I have never sent a message to that list apart from my intro. I am
up for handing over role of liaison to someone else in indymedia
scotland but most others take even less of interest in global network.
But who knows as we grow.

The role of liasons is not really formally solidified in indymedia. Anna
suggested pushing a clearer wiki docs about how imc-communciation works
(or is hoped to work).

There was a proposal from Indymedia Italy to have more of a liaison
communication structure globaly with indymedia. But their proposal
involved using imc-process for this. I am not sure what happened to that
proposal.

The way I see indymedia works is if you want something doing / changing
about indymedia you have to do it yourself or persuade someone to do or
a bit of both, and you also have to take with you others who do tasks in
indymedia, the more they do the more weight they have. How this scales
up to global level can be a bit hit and miss. In the main what happens
is usually the most straight forward way to keep the project
functioning, rather than some strategic democratic plan.
