[New-imc] going away in a couple weeks

Hi new-imc,

Just a quick note to let you know that I'll be heading out of the U.S., and 
far away from e-mail, for a couple months starting on October 28.  I'm 
going to Africa to do some research on journalism projects.  I'll be in 
Ethiopia, Uganda and Nigeria.  Of course I'm going to meet with people from 
the IMC-Nigeria :).  I've e-mailed imc-uganda at indymedia.org to try to hook 
up with people there, but no one has responded.  Haven't heard any new-imc 
rumblings from Ethiopia, but I'll be on the look out.

What this means, of course, is that others will have to fill my tiny shoes 
until the end of the year as far as responding to new-imc applications, 
especially from the U.S.  I do think we had a number of people interested 
in helping with U.S. IMCs, so that shouldn't be a problem.  Other than 
Idaho, which is going to pass through the next stage of the process soon, I 
can't think of any U.S. new-imcs that are  in active stages right 
now.  Some have sent initial requests, but they're still in the 
pre-organizing phase.

I'll be around for the next couple weeks, if there are any loose ends to 
tidy up.
