I do too think that micmatics and my approach have the same
consequences (and by the way: surprisingly I agree with micmatics
description of consensus almost 100%, can't remember when that
happend before :))

Why I brought up the idea that only people who work in collectives
should be able to block: As I mentioned before it may sometimes be
very difficult to see if some one is continously objecting or if his
intention is acctually to block. This is particularly so on
mailinglists, because people have a lot of time to think about what
they are writing.

I think if you work in a collective you don't only have the
possibility to discuss your opinion with likewise thinking people,
but you also have people who might notice when you are starting to
block something and can tell you to stop. I think there are many more
positive mechanisms at work in collectives. Where it comes to in the
end is, that I believe people who work continously in a collective
are less likely to actually block something.
