Hi Martin,
Glad to hear from you. This is Jay from the Philadelphia IMC, and the
new-imc working group. Have we been in touch before . . . ? I know I
sent a couple e-mails to Brett, and to Jeremy Maxand, a while ago when they
were trying to put together someting in Idaho. I'm happy to see that
effort continuing.
As you probably know, the new-imc working group is here to help you through
the process of joining the network by answering your questions and by
asking a lot of others. You've already seen the documents at
"http://newimc.indymedia.org". The next step would be to make sure
everyone else in the forming collective is familiar with them, and to start
following the suggested organizing steps.
You indicate that you've been doing a lot of outreach, which the new-imc
working group has emphasized a lot in recent months. We've also been
really enthusiastic about aspiring IMCs that attract a lot of diverse
people from the community, as those groups have proved to be the most
sustainable. So, if those are already priorities, you're a step ahead of
the game.
Take your time to do good organizing as you go through the steps suggested
at the newimc.indymedia page. Feel free to ask me or the new-imc working
group any questions you may have. When you're ready, drop
new-imc at indymedia.org a line with your responses to the membership
criteria, and we'll be off to the races.
Good luck,
Jay
