hi
I'm noosfera, fom the volonteers collective of IMC-pt. I've been trying to
post this message for long, but spam assassin did'nt like my other e-mail
adress. I can't complain about that, then since a couple of days or weeks
spam literally vanished from the discussions lists of pt. indymedia.
that's great.
but we have other problems, like lots of spam being posted daily in our
site (not the
lists)http://pt.indymedia.org/ler.php?numero=55247&cidade=1&forcarcomentarios=S#80810,
in recorrent news, most our editorials. and functions that stop working,
other functions that we would like to criate and can't, all because from
the activ whole collective, noone has acess to the server. we post
editorials, our agenda, hide posts in the different categories, etc,
trough a webpage to wich we have a password, but we cant really change or
fix anything.
the situation of the only person that had (and has) acess to the server is
of very poor comunication with the rest of us, allthough there are no
direct or personal problems with the collective. this person has been hill
(burn out or nervous breakdown) for over one year and is allmost not
contactable. we made during this time several attempts to have the
accesses given to us.
that was decided in consense in several meetings he was'nt in condition to
come to, but then there were made efforts to contact him and wenn we got
to him he sistematically agreed in appointments "next week end", we waited
for an e-mail with the confirmation of the hour, but he never confirmed.
then we speack with his girlfriend and she says he ment to, but is still
to hill to get it together.
we are loosing people, not being inviting at all for new volonteers and
the ones remaining feel dumm, like sitting on someone elses indymedia site
and not knowing were is the kitchen and the electrical board. that's
besonders bad for a group that believes in autonomie and in horizontal
access to whatever matters but must call for daddy, that is not there most
of the time, every time we have a problem to be fixed.
all this trouble (and hours of work) with the loads of spam from viagra
and levitra would have a quick end if we could change the site
configurations. it's also really bad, with all the work it gives us, the
sort of comments the frequenters of the site make about the group of toats
that is looking after it "now".
the decision to ask for them is consensual (except the ones not activ,
only subscribed) so I hope I made it clear that we do need the acesses.
