jeff, gdm, both of you make exremely important and obvious
contributions to indymedia, and both of you certainly have my moral
support (for what it's worth, if anything).

My speculation of what this conflict might be about is that it is one
of the side effects of the fact that in indymedia we have a
*fundamentally difficult* goal:

http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-research/2006-July/0709-gl.html

Trying to be a global, non-hierarchical, participatory network of
autonomous grassroots collectives is fundamentally difficult if we really
are honest about being all of these things.

This means that even the most serious, dedicated, hard-working,
well-intentioned people in indymedia can sometimes feel frustrated
with each other: conflicts happen and working through them can lead to
creative solutions and growth of us as individuals and a network.

Concrete suggestion: use the
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/resolve list as a *meta* list
for this conflict/misunderstanding - that's what it was intended for
in the first place, not for discussions of the specific elements of a
conflict.
