An excellent live CD for recovery situations is RIP Linux

http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/

It includes support for RAID, LVM, cryptdisks etc on the CD. It has
command line and X scripts for easy network setup. Very very useful.

It appears to support 3ware 9xxx - from
http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/docs/RIPLinux-1.9.kernel.txt

#
# SCSI low-level drivers
#
...
CONFIG_SCSI_3W_9XXX=y
...

And the NFS server

#
# Network File Systems
#
CONFIG_NFS_FS=y
CONFIG_NFS_V3=y
# CONFIG_NFS_V3_ACL is not set
# CONFIG_NFS_V4 is not set
# CONFIG_NFS_DIRECTIO is not set
CONFIG_NFSD=y
CONFIG_NFSD_V3=y
# CONFIG_NFSD_V3_ACL is not set
# CONFIG_NFSD_V4 is not set
CONFIG_NFSD_TCP=y
CONFIG_LOCKD=y
CONFIG_LOCKD_V4=y
CONFIG_EXPORTFS=y
CONFIG_NFS_COMMON=y
CONFIG_SUNRPC=y

Hope that helps for future - though it appears to be done now
