passing this along to ahimsa-tech - there's a plan brewing to move
kenya somewhere else, so this would likely be a short term thing...

Here's the general technical situation, as I observe it here.
1) The local membership of IMC Kenya is interested and excited about
learning how to use an open publishing website, but no energy has gone
into it until this convergence. A general observation is that the
internet isn't a likely core communications method (internal and
external) for indymedia here, especially as internet access is limited
and people mostly pay per minute.
3) The two immediate issues with the existing installation have been
fixed, so we should be able to move forward. The current site may be
sustainable for the WSF convergence -- but it's hard to say. And no
one local has access to that server. It would be great if someone
here could get shell or root access to ahisma, if that's appropriate.
