http processes were massive, it was easier to reboot than to try and
pull down the processes it was taking so long ..

.. turned Adelaide off again, changes last night to my.cnf seemed to
work for a while getting rid of sleeping processes .. but something in
the code just sends stuff in a whirl.

Having another go at some rewrites again tonight.
