I had a quick look at the website a few weeks back. It looks good. have
to test though.

This brings up the idea of getting a second box for axxs.org that has
briefly been discussed in the past. From memory the idea is to get a new
box setup with debian and an OS control panel, such as ISPConfig, and
migrate everything across.

I'm in favour of that. Was also thinking about using xen or likewise
virtual server product. We could then have several of our own virtual
servers on the one box. This would mean we could segregate some
applications that might blow out memory or the like. I've never used xen
though, so its all new ground for me.

Since Netaxxs have paid for the current box in a one year payment, that
leaves us 11 or so months to gather funds for this second box. It's
about $2400 USD ... Dave, can you give us a URL to the hosting company
currently used?

How to pay for a second box? Probably the best idea is for groups using
axxs.org to start regular donations if they can afford it. Perhaps if we
can all get back to this list with a figure we can start to get an
idea if this can all be done or not. Perhaps even a yearly donations
drive to pay for another year of hosting? another aim of this would be
to make axxs.org less dependent on netaxxs funding.

Also, Cat at lyst is going to be wanting to move lots of their projects
over here as cat is restucturing, or disbanding...or something. this
means a few more groups that can donate but it also means more server load.

what do you all think?

Cam
