Hi all,

Am just writing because sarah (from eco-shout) and I are going to start
making websites on the cheap for social/enviro groups again. And that means
building lots of websites, many of which might want hosting on axxs. We'd
definitely be able to give a yearly donation to axxs, or whenever we need a
new server/however it works... Otherwise I've just got a few questions and
thoughts..

Is there any kind of standard as to what kinds of groups axxs will give free
hosting to or is it up to the collective each time and finding a sponsor to
manage the sites?

Also I'd really like to learn more admin stuff so that I can plausibly
sponsor lots of sites and not have to ask others to help me with problems
all the time. What are the things I should learn that come up often? Should
I maybe just hang out on the irc whenever im online and see what goes on
there (besides me showing up to ask questions)? Also I'd like to help out
with the wiki, perhaps each time I learn something new, I could write it up
on the wiki for others.

Another project is that Sarah and I are planning on running a series of
classes for groups that have zero to little funding, to teach them how to
make their own websites in drupal. the idea being that over 6 weeks they
actually build their own website. Wondering how you all would feel about me
setting up plesk accounts for each of these groups. would take on 10 people
at a time probably, and I could manage their sites afterwards and make sure
they upgrade drupal, etc.

also, the monash enviro and social justice collective are setting up their
own site and wondering whether we could host it. I'm happy to manage it.
Would that be ok?

thanks,
Rachel
