[axxs-sysadmin] permissions / ownership

while we're on the subject of permissions. i have a small gremlin in the
form of this directory:
/home/httpd/vhosts/nano.foe.org.au/httpdocs/sites/nano.foe.org.au/fscache6E

drwxr-x---   2 apache  apache   4096 Feb  6 08:34 fscache6E

i have shell access but can't chown the directory to our username. i have full ownership/permission of the parent folder:
drwxrwxrwx 10 nanofoe psacln 4096 Feb 6 09:28 .

but i can't change the permissions or ownership in plesk, gftp, or ssh.

would it be possible to give it some coaxing by root?
