We have looked into updating axxs.org, as it is Fedora Core 2.

We looked at Plesk on Debian, and apparently there are issues with this,
so it's redhat or centos if we are to use Plesk apparently, I would go
for centOS obviously out of these.

The other choice is a different control panel, which could be a major
work load .. considering we want axxs.org to be low-maintenance ...

The process is :

0/ Remove all the excess cruft from axxs.org that can dissapear and is
no longer needed. (there is major stuff in this category!) some folk
have hundreds of meg of mail, or lot's of dead stuff in their home
folder, old domains since moved .. Subversion repositories .. etc etc

1/ backup axxs.org using the command line plesk backup system, and make
sure we have any changes outside this saved/noted.

2/ we put in a ticket for an 'OS reload', and a timeframe for it to
occur, the techs will reload the OS at that time with the latest CentOS
and Plesk 8.1.

3/ Update from the installed Plesk 8.1 to 8.2

4/ restore the Plesk backup

what do people think? this should give us a clean system, a move from
the non-supported Fedora Core 2, etc

Dave
