Thanks for the warning. We now have three indymedia collectives + websites
in Poland:

* cia.bzzz.net (indymedia de facto, but not officially indymedia(TM))
* torun.indymedia.org (town)
* pl.indymedia.org  (warsaw / claims to be national(ist))

Both cia.bzzz and torun.indy each run on a single server.

i'm now only doing tech support for torun.indy - i would prefer to
support local collectives rather than a "national", malfunctioning
collective (e.g. preventng the hiding of an article promoting "facts"
to support the antisemitic stereotype of "Judaeo-commune" - that the
quite repressive Communist government in Poland was run by Jews, and
then getting angry at the idea that a major antiracist activist group
in Poland could participate in the indymedia discussion of the issue).

i think probably we won't want to debate here which of these three is
the "real" indymedia or is "more" indymedia, though i probably can't
prevent my self totally from giving my analyses. My point of view is
expressed publicly here:
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-communication/2007-July/0728-9t.html

Another way of describing it could be in analogy to the IMC France
situation of 5 years ago. The "national" IMC France reorganised
(painfully and slowly) into a loose network of local city imc's:
nationalism dies slowly. IMC Poland is now de facto IMC Warsaw, but
who knows if/when it will reorganise officially that way. But of
course, the analogy is not perfect (like any analogy).

If someone wants to provide tech support the "Poland" collective, be
warned that you may be accused of being dishonest if you ask someone
reporting a bug to give you details of the bug. This is considered
"dishonesty", because when you ask for concrete details, then the
person claiming the bug may no longer be able to claim the bug exists,
especially if it's irreproducible. You are expected to agree that the
irreproducible bugs exist. And then you must justify why you're not
fixing them. Of course, here i'm generalising from one incident.
Other incidents have been different...

BTW, i don't think we should close the pl.indy site - more information
distribution is generally better than less, even by malfunctioning
collectives. But i don't think we need to feel obliged to support it
either, especially since there are two other indymedia collectives
with functioning websites for local activists, and when it is unwilling
to go through the new-imc process as a new collective.
