[axxs-sysadmin] 55 hours uptime: the overload/mysql problem - most probably php persistent connections was the problem

hi axxs-sysadmin,

www.axxs.org has now had a stable load for the past 55 hours, i.e. since
we set  mysql.persistent_connections = Off in /etc/php.ini.

Reload https://samizdat.axxs.org/150 for a plot.

The restart function in the failsafe script was not triggered at all,
so the hypothesis that mysql persistent connections were the problem 
is looking pretty good.
