one of the domains isn't set up properly somewhere .. haven't had a
chance to jump on and look ....

Yea can be caused by a number of things, DOS attacks including benign
ones ..

if it doesn't stop, we can just drop the IP :

iptables -I INPUT -s XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -j DROP
