Subject: [axxs-sysadmin] ffmpeg on borg

I've built and installed ffmpeg on borg.

Following instructions off the web, ie
http://stream0.org/2008/01/install-ffmpeg-on-debian-etch.html

I added to sources.list

deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main
deb-src http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main

checked out ffmpeg into /usr/local/src

I got it to build after a bit of stuffing round.

I installed it in /usr/local using 'make install', didn't bother with
the checkinstall bizzo.

Not sure if I've got all the media codecs in there tho.

Is there anyone else on borg that wants to use this? I was thinking if
so then we need a system that will queue files from all our websites.
Maybe such a system already exists?

Any advice from those that have done this sort of thing before?

Thanks
Cam
