Hi Alex,

in 2003 (http://archives.lists.indymedia.org/imc-tech/2003-March/ 
010834.html) Calyx Donated a very nice Server to the Indymedia  
Network. The Box is running radio.indymedia.org Website and a Icecast  
Server. Both Services need some Bandwidth and we are very thankful  
for that Donation. The Site is used by many Free and Alternative  
Radios around the World and we would not be able to Host such a  
Service without your Help.

Around january 2004  Micah from the U.S. Visited Calyx in Amsterdam  
and made some Kernel Updates and fixed a Broken HD in the RAID.

In the last month we had many Downtimes of the Box, like cold Reboots  
and Network outages. We where not be able to find the real source of  
that Problem due the massive downtimes.

For Example: In the last week we was not even able to trace into the  
calyx network, the trace stopped at   zwartepiet.ams.calyx.nl

Since we was not able to have closer look into the System we would  
like to know if Berkman was affected by planed maintains Work at  
Calyx - so we can exclude that as a source for the Box Downtime.

It would also be very Helpful if you could please add berkman- 
sysadmin at lists.indymedia.org to the List for Maintain Notifications.  
This is a Public Mailing List, if that is a Problem please let us know.

If you see any reason (high bandwidth usage) for a Downtime on your  
site, please let us know.

At the moment the box is down again. We hope one of the Techs around  
the World is awake and has some time to have a closer look on the  
Logs as soon as the Box is back. We would like to confirm that  
physical access to the Box is needed. We also got a Tech Contact  
(bonzai) in Amsterdam who would be able to have a look on Berkman if  
he gets access to the Colo.
