It's true, that I'm thinking of both having backups because we're
relying on radio.indy as a long term archiving solition, but also in
having some services available when the machine is down, so there is
less noticable downtime.

What I had in mind was something similar to the way we mirror the static
files and media from mir onto ahimsa. So when the main server is down,
only posting is unavailable but all the content is available.

Are there a lot of places that use the icecast streaming on radio.indy?
We don't, we have our own server and just post to the directory of
streams on radio.indy.
