  Join Vigil in Support of Lt. Watada's Decision not to Fight in Iraq
  Court Martial Begins 02/05/2007, Fort Lewis Washington
   
  Boston, Massachusetts - Court martial proceedings begin this week against Army Lt. Ehran Watada in Fort Lewis, Washington.  On June 22, 2006, Watada stepped forward as the first commissioned officer publicly to refuse deployment to the Iraq War.
   
  Ehran Watada's father, Bob and stepmother, Rose spoke locally in November of 2006 regarding their son's decision not to deploy.  Rosa Watada was hospitalized due to a stroke suffered after speaking at the 01/27/07 march on DC.  Lt. Watada faces up to 5 tears imprisonment if found guilty of court martial.
   
  The candlelight vigil will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the JP monument located at the intersection of South and Centre Streets in Jamaica Plain in front of the both Curtis Hall and Unitarian Universalist church.
