[IMC-Boston-Dispatch] BADL Bill Budington Enflamed Over Derek Garcia's Court Deal

Boston Animal Defense League's Bill Budington was enraged over a private
restitution deal made by Derek Garcia to the victims of  BADL's wide
sweeping home and office harassment campaign on behalf of W.A.R. (Win
Animal Rights) Central Command.

Budington, who has tried repeatedly to snake material and images
critical of himself from the Haters Magazine webpage and who circulates
the BADL action directives and tactical secrecy memos did circulate the
following letter:

The BADL 4 Legal Update:

As most of you know, the Boston Animal Defense League has been going
through
a long process of pre-trial court in the case of the campaign against
previous Boston HLS-customer, Surface Logix.

BADL faced a major blow yesterday when 4 of the co-defendants showed up
for
court to find out that the other co-defendant had decided to take a deal
without
consultation. With the lack of evidence laid out against the activists,
and with full confidence of getting the entire case thrown out, Derek
Garcia decided to take it upon himself and pay $1000 restitution to
Surface Logix, which in turn would drop the charges against him, so he
could go traveling.

We'd like to point out that this was the first protest that Derek Garcia
had
ever shown up to in support of this campaign. A number of the
co-defendants
have dedicated the last 4-5 years of their lives to this campaign.
We'd also like to point out that Derek is a law student, and was the
only co-defendant that ran his mouth to the Boston Police Department,
giving specifics on a number of the other co-defendants, as it was
revealed in the police reports.

This affects the entire campaign against Huntingdon Life Sciences, who
is on
the brink of closure. This was also an action against the resistance and
solidarity with the larger Boston community.

HOWEVER, THIS WILL NOT AFFECT BADL'S RESISTANCE AGAINST HUNTINGDON LIFE
SCIENCES! We will continue to take down the local customers that
continue to
conduct business with HLS!

BADL has pulled all support for Derek Garcia, and we are pleading with
the
rest of the community to join us! For more information on this, don't

Implied in the letter is that BADL's efforts were significantly
adversely affected by one of their number making a private deal. 
Budington has unleashed numerous vengeful verbal fusillades at persons
who break ranks with the local node of this national ecoterrorist
brigade.  Also, Budington derides Garcia's credentials, citing as many
Boston college students do, his own 4 years committed to direct action,
and the needs of the criminal collective which outrank the needs of the
individual criminal.  Budington does not go so far as to accuse Garcia
of being a plant, but he grazes the accusation by referencing Garcia's
noobishness to BADL's direct actions.  Derek Garcia is a well known
local leftist idiot.

Derek Garcia is a Northeastern University student contact to the
National Lawyer's Guild.  He was the Paypal and cash donation collector
for Operation Over when he resided at 1345 Beacon Street, Brookline MA. 
Operation Over was already warned against violating Brookline's private
residence protesting rules during the BU Biosafety Level 4 (BSL4) April
2006 protests in which people's homes were assaulted with clamor and
litter because the fact that BU "draws no distinctions between
legitimate and illegitimate research" was met with students who draw no
distinction between legitimate and illegitimate forms of protest.

Derek Garcia is one of the myriad NLG college law students who have
their protest antics hosted on Boston Indymedia, and who issue anonymous
threats to persons who delineate, describe, or otherwise criticize their
activity in the heavily censored comments section.  Derek is associated
with Erin and Stephanie who are also part of the Operation Over - BU
Student Underground - Animal Defense League nexus.  They are all
material opponents of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act, and target
stock exchanges, private homes, fax machines, and mailboxes.  Jake
Carman, who is protected in anonymous journalism by Boston Indymedia and
BAAM / Boston Socialists writes Sacco and Vanzetti paeans wherein Garcia
is quoted as a "random" marcher.  It is all one giant network.

Now Budington is issuing this memorandum to instigate a boycott of Derek
Garcia across all the activist communities in Boston.  It's very
amusing.  Perhaps the donation to this outfit by Steve of TJ
Scallywaggles can cover the rest of their bills:

BADL held a benefit for the BADL5(4) last night at TJ
Scallywaggles.

Moral of the story:  You can't wage a good ecoterror and harassment
campaign and also have highly publicized boycotts of your own members. 
Also, don't let pesky summer vacations get in the way of going to jail
as a political prisoner.

BADL is totally pwned as an activist organization.  FLIPSIDE has been
kicked out of their groups, lists, meetings, etc. but the reports still
flow.
