I, Devin Atallah-Gutierrez, am part of a group called, Sabeel, which
is a Palestinian Christian international grassroots peace movement
based in Jerusalem which promotes nonviolence, human rights,
international law, democratic principles, and Gospel teachings on
justice and peace-building. I have participated in the planning of the
upcoming conference this October with featured guest: Archbishop
 Desmond Tutu.

Desmond Tutu will address the theme "The Apartheid Paradigm in
Palestine-Israel: Highlighting Issues of Justice and Equality" at the
Sabeel Conference in Boston Oct. 26 - 27. The event will occur at Old
South Church in downtown Boston and will feature lectures and panel
discussions looking at ways the South African apartheid model of
ethnic/racial segregation is applied in Palestine today.

Please see the attached brochure if you are interested, or you can
 register online at:

Please circulate the news about this conference with your communities
and encourage individuals to attend the conference who are
particularly interested in engaging in discussions about peaceful and
just solutions to the Palestinian- Israeli conflict, through the lens
of other communities who have survived Apartheid and other
 devastatingly oppressive sociopolitical systems.

I also think this is a unique opportunity for American Christian's to
show their support and dedication to peace and justice worldwide,
particularly in the land of the origin of the Christan faith, anchored
within a tapestry and heritage of various other world religions
including Judaism and Islam. In this region, which is now labelled by
the International community as the Israeli Occupied Territories of
Palestine, our brothers and sisters (Christian and Muslim Palestinians
alike) are currently being oppressed by the state of Israel through
the support of our tax dollars and many of our weapons (made here in
the USA). As Americans, regardless of our religious affiliations or
political party memberships, our participation in the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict is active and facilitates the occupation,
whether we like it or not. Come partake in dialogues with Archbishop
Desmond Tutu and other leading human rights advocates on these issues
and paths toward the future that promote peace and justice rather than
 ongoing oppression and violence.

Thank you for your time. Please contact me with any questions about
 the conference.

 Salaam,

 Devin
