Subject: What is Change? Community Mobilization and Voter Registration Event

   Friends,

April 19th is fast approaching. We warmly invite you to come join us on the Boston Commons to celebrate all of the amazing change work happening in our community, enjoy music and speakers, and learn about how to get more involved in the civic fabric of Boston! We appreciate your help in forwarding this e-mail to all your contacts and encouraging them to come.

Saturday April 19, 2008 will mark the anniversary of the start of the American Revolution. This monumental date will also set the tempo for change in the greater Boston area. The What Is Change? Community Mobilization and Voter Registration Event will be an afternoon long engagement focused on providing thousands of Boston citizens the necessary tools for instituting change in the local and national levels. In addition to a voter registration drive, dozens of musicians and key local figures are slated to storm the stage with socially-conscious, solution-oriented music and messages.

This innovative event will be hosted by Shadow and DJ-ed by DJ Nomadik. It includes performances by Invisible Inc., AfroDZak, One Signata Nach, Reality Click, and Joy Daniels. It will also include breakdancing by Floorlords and street theatre by Reflect and Strengthen, and many others. Some of local leaders speaking will be Grace Ross, Ron Bell, and Ali Nookani.

The What Is Change? event is hosted by Project: Think Different (PTD), MassVOTE, Dēmos: A Network of Ideas and Action and Teen Empowerment in conjunction with over 40 organizations from throughout Boston’s Third Sector and is expecting 4,000 people.
