On Saturday, March 15, 2008, local antiwar organizations are gathering during the day to participate in an historic event. We will watch the Winter Soldier testimonies--"Eyewitness Accounts of the Occupations"--broadcast live from Washington, D.C. by Iraq Veterans Against the War. This will be a day to hear soldiers' perspectives on the war and respond to the call of Iraq Veterans Against the War to bring all the troops home now.

Members of the public will be invited by leafletters to attend this public screening of the testimony in Cambridge at the First Parish Church in Harvard Square. The screening begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs all day through 6:00pm, followed by a community meal. Panels happening on Saturday include "Divide To Conquer: Gender and Sexuality in the Military," "Racism and War: the Dehumanization of the Enemy," "Civilian Testimony: The Cost of War in Iraq and Afghanistan," and "The Cost of the War at Home." (Full schedule at: http://ivaw.org/wintersoldier/howtowatch)

During breaks in the live transmission of the testimony from Washington, local veterans and other presenters will address and perform for our gathering. At noon there will be a demonstration against the war in Harvard Square. We will close the day with a meal together. Please attend as much of the day's events as possible, consider volunteering for an hour or two, and help spread the word! Organized by the Boston Winter Soldier Task Force of New England United in collaboration with Iraq Veterans Against the War.
