City Life's planned eviction blockade tomorrow (Friday) at 200 Norfolk St. has been postponed. Emergency intervention today at court gave the family 30 days more. The Judge strongly urged the Bank to take the family's offer to buy the buildilng at appraised value! This was a very important statement from the judge.
In the next 30 days, we will press for this and many other buildings to be sold at appraised value to residents who are offering to buy, or to non-profits, or that Banks should simply take rent. There is no excuse for 2000 no fault evictions in Boston.
These cases are further examples of the need for Just Cause eviction legislation being filed at both the state and City levels. We will raise the cases at public hearings coming up in the next few weeks for those new laws.
Thank you so much for your support. Keep up the pressure! We will end these bank evictions after foreclosure.

So we decided to get together & change the weather, not just for now -- but forever.
