[Boston-editorial] local vs nonlocal

Hey editorialists and ?,
I was just wanting to reinforce a previously discussed
idea, and perhaps add it to our list for a need of
clarifying. That idea is that regional stories can
also be left in the local newswire. This norm seems
to be well in effect for western Mass, CT, RI, VT and
NH but not for Southern Canada such as Nova Scotia,
maritimes, montreal and quebec.
I am in the hope that we can ignore that pesky
international border to start building strong
solidarity with groups up there in media and for our
activist readers.
The example that brought this up for me is one of my
own posts, which I pulled off of western Mass but that
was about the harbor seal protest off the coast of
Nova Scotia.
The harbor seal protest was one of the biggest things
going on in our region of the world last week and I
purposely localized it to give our site the look and
feel of being responsive to events in the region.
As a general rule also- I would hope that folks, when
they see Pete S in the author bar of an article- will
call me before demoting it.
Still smiling-
Pete
