I don't like it either but it often works, souther police brutality
and murder in the 60's didn't get much press till soem white kids from
new york got killed.

But I do wonder at the truth of it, I don't understand the reasons for
anonymity.  The article implies they are there as human rights
monitors, if that's the case it's pretty much their job to shout this
from the roof tops and sign their name to it.
