[Boston-editorial] Batman article

I disagree w/your disagreement ;) To be completely honest, I think that updates belong on the newswire and not on the article itself. The reasoning for it, though, is that with huge events (such as the DNC, Philly, DC protest against war, etc., etc.), updates will be provided by many people from the collective. Such updates come in the format of pictures, video, audio, calls for solidarity for those arrested, etc. The center section of the site should contain a good, strong summary of the events in the form of an article, preferably. But in this case, I didn't say anything about it (and helped you with it) because I could see just how important it was for you & compas arrested in Philly.
Being that said, sending down an article by another author I think is quite a slap on the face. Now I have to scroll down to read Batman and it has been receiving a lot of feedback from people going in hysterics about a piece of enterntainment (which from a sociological point of view is just fascinanting). It "weighs" one article over the other and that does not send a good message to the community. We're not supposed to weigh on the importance of articles centered.
Moreover, does that mean if I want to make an update to my Ecuador article from weeks ago that I can bring it back up? I don't think so. I really don't like any member of the editorial collective making decisions on moving articles around for the rest of us. It's just not right. Please move it back where it belongs.
with much love (you know I love you, right?),

I disagree. I feel like, if we aren't going to have newer articles on the
same subject posted, then the article should be placed at the top when a
new update comes in, otherwise, if we were to have 3 or 4 articles to come
in while another event was still unfolding, then the unfolding event would
be so far down the column as to be problematic. I do think that, now that
the Philly situation is over for the time being-everyone is out-it makes
sense to put the batman feature back at the top.
