Sharpie's right--we generally don't feature calls to action and other
announcements (other than our own announcements), because we don't want
to be in the position of picking and choosing whose events we're going
to promote. Besides, I really don't know anything about this group. If
we did decide to promote their call to action for some reason, I would
really want to know more about them. There are some shady groups that
manage to put up slick fronts out there.
I suppose you could argue this is also a commentary, but it doesn't
have much depth. We generally require commentaries to lay out some
facts and analyze them, to give them substantial basis, not just to be
opinion. Before we came up with this guideline, we did not normally
feature commentary--this guidelines gave us some way of making choices
about which commentary was worth featuring or not.
I suppose you could convince me we should make an exception to the
guidelines and feature this, but you'll need to make some sort of
in-depth argument.
