So I'll weigh in lightly...

I'm against centering because it's a call not an article.  I wish we had a
more sectional format so perhapse we could sort of sub feature things by
catagory, but we don't have enough submissions to keep sub sections
populated and I've not seen a layout of this type that I really like.

I would favor a story sooner (and later) as it seems to be encouraging
organizing an event rather than attendence.
