Sorry- a little hasty there but I wish someone would
have been contacted before yanking something that was
so obviously posted in the interest of our group.

I strongly feel that taking something off the center
column should be the HUGEST NO-NO.

The reason for this is very simple. When you take
something off center and then we have to repost it, it
goes up on the US site TWICE! making us and the
moderators of the US site look bad.

We need to maintain their trust that our center column
will remain consistent and reliably true to mission.

If someone is feeling as though this post somehow
broke the principles of unity or the editorial policy
as written thus:

Features Guidelines

In selecting postings to feature in the center column,
the Boston IMC's editorial collective looks primarily
for articles that:

1. Are original and are not simply reprints from
mainstream/corporate sources;
2. Have timely relevance for Boston readers along with
local details and connections where possible;
3. Put events, such as protests, in context instead of
simply providing a blow-by-blow account--remember to
cover who, what, when, where, why and how;
4. Use factual information from reliable sources; and
5. Are reasonably well written.

These guidelines help us to maintain a site with both
integrity and openness. They are only guidelines.

I would be keenly interested in how this post was
deemed unworthy by ONE editor, especially noting the
last sentence of above policy. Namely "They are only
guidelines"

I'm really tired of passive aggressive debates and
would really appreciate open and inclusive and
communicative debates wherein the person who is
deciding to act makes an attempt to call the parties
involved. The first call in this case should have
gone to Tim since he is obvously the author. Then,
when Tim named me as the person who promoted this to
center a call could be made to me.

My phone has not been ringing, I'm not sure if Tim was
contacted.

This article was obviously in the interest of an
entire working group.

I don't understand.

-Pete
