[Boston-editorial] why was this hidden?

I think this article/comment should stay up. It's well written and it's clearly a parody. Many writers (ie, Mark Twain) use satire to make a point. We also don't want to single out the anarchist group considering how they are being harrassed by the corporate media. Did anyone see the article on the Herald? On the contrary, I rather see well-thought out, clever articles like this from them than just ranting.

We provide a service to the community by giving them space to voice their opinions and feelings. As long as they don't publish hate pieces (which is clearly stated on the editorial policy), they should be able to say what they want how they want it. This is not a "newspaper", it's a tool for the community. I personally love it when people publish actions, contact info, connected to an article. After all, isn't IndyMedia about journalism and activism?

I think it should stay up until we talk in the group and have a clear policy about stuff like this.

I'm not sure what you mean by putting the article in comments, not the
newswire. We don't have a commentswire, just a newswire and people post
commentary there all the time. This sort of satire is a commentary in
its own right--there is a long history of making political commentary
through satire.

I think the main issue is whether it will be clear to people that this
post is satire. I follow stuff related to the World Bank so closely
that I'm not really a good judge of that. May be what we should do in
this case (and any future posts like it, where things are unclear) is
to add an editor's note that this is a satire, not something to be
taken seriously. That seems better than hiding a perfectly legitimate
form of political expression.
