I understand the "get your own damned soap box argument".  And his
links are a problem especially since google ranking are based on
number of links to your site, this is a popular spam form.

We do however need to have a way for people to respond to their
detractors even if we are their detractors.  Now they do need to play
by our rules, we just need to be clear on what those are.
