[Boston-editorial] Making a survey

So i think I might have said something to the effecct
that I might make up a survey....

Well I just discovered a site called survey monkey
that I am using for a bike advocacy project right now.
So i had to pay this fee, and I can do as many
surveys as I want as long as I don't get over a 1000 a
month in responses.

I would like to create a survey for our readers that
would ask many questions about how to get them better
involved in content creation, how the site can serve
their needs better, and how indymedia can help them in
other ways. Maybe we could also include some stuff
about editorial policy.

First step I think is for people to send me things
they want to know in the form of questions we want the
survey to answer. Like:

"Do people think we should be editing with a heavier
hand?"

or "How many people use the calendar regularly?"

or "How many anarchists read the site vs. other
groups?"

The survey will be anonymous of course and off site
(hosted on survey monkey) But I would like to make it
a feature in the razorwire and also write a story
about it after it is completed that also says how we
might respond to it. Hopefully our new site and
usability study will follow shortly after but we can
use info to improve that project.

I thought about doing it after but it would take a
while for folks to get used to the new site before
giving real insightful comments so I thought I'd do
one now and then maybe another after a few months of
the new site.

Since we discussed this before I'm assuming no dissent
but we got new folks joining in so feel free to ask
questions of this idea or whatever...

Thanks yall, you can email me back off list with
suggested q's so we don't get too much traffic here
and I'll post a link to the survey before I set it up
so we can adjust and dialogue on it.

-Pete
