[Boston-editorial] anti-Semitic conspiracy theories

Hey all --

Just a heads up to look out for articles posted by "researcher", who is
promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and throwing a fit because
I'm hiding them. Actually, everyone should check every article posted
about 9-11 or Israel to check for anti-Semitic content--those are the
places it most commonly crops up. And researcher may well switch to
another pseudonym.

Why we consider researcher's articles anti-Semitic might not be
immediately clear to newer editors. A while back, we had a discussion
in which we agreed to treat all conspiracy theories pinning the blame
on either Jews or Zionists as anti-Semitic. This is for the simple
reason that these conspiracy theories generally have their roots in the
work of right-wing anti-Semites, who often use the term "Zionist" as a
code word for "Jew". Unfortunately, some quasi-progressive people seem
to have picked up on these conspiracy theories without really
understanding where they came from, which is one of the reasons they
find their way onto out site (in addition to the fact that members of
the far right also occasionally post to our site). If anyone's
interested in reading a good critique of conspiracy theories about 9-11
and conspiracy theorism in general, see
