Just a series (maybe a mini-series) of helpful stuff
to bring new folks up to speed with current policies
and stuff... hope it's helpful.
#1 One of the big things I was doing as an editor was
reclassifying things as local or elsewhere.
Today I did two Kerry ariticles that were in the local
newswire. They should be considered elsewhere because
A.) they were national news, and B.) they were not
written by local Authors.
B is tricky. If you suspect a person is local you can
email them to ask. There are a tonne of folks however
who spam IMC's nationwide with their articles. I'm
pretty sure Joe Lipisi is one of those.
I also used to take anything that was hidden out of
the local newswire so others wouldn't have to recheck
it.
It's also good to check the elsewhere articles for
stuff that should be local.
As the site is now Local gets all the airplay, so it's
important that locals get there.
