I was simply considering the dispatch list in the web context, oops.

To clarify my thoughts on professional/amateur are along the
lines of getting paid/not getting paid rather that done well/sucks, I
realize looking back this isn't the most common usage.

My point is people who are looking to survive by their reporting
skills have a greater stake in exclusivity and being first on scene
than people who have no financial/career interest.  This is because
that is what is rewarded with cash and career advancement.  It your
only goal is coverage or getting your side of the story out, other
coverage isn't as relevent.
