National Poll Shows Changing Political Landscape on Estate Tax: Americans
Now Agree- Keep the Estate Tax
New Poll Shows 57% Prefer Keeping or Reforming the Estate Tax
Washington, DC - As the Senate prepares for a May vote on estate tax repeal,
increased budget deficits and a more educated public are spurring greater
numbers to join a movement begun by some of America's millionaires in 2001
to keep the federal estate tax. A new national poll details the shift toward
support in American attitudes towards the estate tax.
William Mann of Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, will detail the poll's
findings along with Steve Ricchetti, of the Coalition for America's
Priorities, who will discuss the changing political landscape in the estate
tax fight. Sheldon Cohen, a member of Responsible Wealth and former
Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, will outline the
pro-estate-tax position of some of America's wealthiest taxpayers.
