[IMC-Boston-Editorial] Fwd: [Imc-us-editorial] looking forward -->

The IAC at a global level, yes, but the local chapter I'm yet to be convinced about. I agree good reporting would be great on that issue... Even an article specifically about it. I wouldn't say they are a "shady" group on an article, though, unless I had specific proof of it. Covering the event either way wouldn't be about the IAC but about the people that participated in it.

  Now, whether I agree w/their ideology per se or not is another thing.

  Many people are fooled and do not know their politics, needs to be some good reporting on that issue.

  Just FYI that there are plans at US IMC to feature national coverage for the anniversary of Katrina (Aug 29th) and the UJP declaration of peace and week of civil disobedience (Sept 21-28th)...

    I know the IAC is planning a rally on the Katrina anniversary, so we should make sure to get an article on that:
    http://www.iacboston.org/

    And we should keep our ears & eyes open for events in September.

    laters,

    the september 21 thing seems like a good one to plan toward a
  collaborative, authored feature for.

  also the immigrants rights protests planned for that "nice holiday" in
  early september - there is also one here in portland.

  more immediately there is the katrina anniversary:

  i am all for some mechanism to promote the sort of collaboration james
  and mathin are suggestiong. i don't know how this would happen
  technically and would love folks to make specific suggestions. its a
  bummer docs has been down for so long because we are limited in our
  ability to look at past decisions...
