hey kiddos,

I know, we're supposed to have a meeting or something. A week ago I didn't hear from anyone except Sofe, so I'm guessing everyone's busy changing the world and it's not from a lack of interest...

So, one meeting before the holidays should be fun, but I'm not organizing one this time around. I'm going to be in NY by the 20th (I'm volunteering w/Democracy Now!!--that's an extra ! after the ! on the title). Please feel free to take the December mtg. baton.

GOOD NEWS: So, we finally have one account for the BIMC and were able to transfer that money that we so greatly needed (Jamie, please don't run off to PRico w/the money). The awesome news is that we have some cash to help at least 2 people go to the National Media Reform Conference. I think as much as $200.oo per person (is this amount ok w/everyone?).  I know both Jonathan & Sim were interested, but others (Sofe, Marjy) let us know as well so this is not an all-men BIMC party.  Please call me if you're interested!!  I'll be happy to arrange things and report back to/consult with the group.

The "bad" news is that it doesn't cover everything...  Either way people will have to come up w/their own money.  Does anyone know an estimate of how much it would be?  Do people need the $$ beforehand or is a reimbursement ok?  People need to make plane reservations ASAP.  US Airways is having a sale...

MORE GOOD NEWS: I saw Rob (good 'ld time Rob) and he's still interested in helping us w/our new website.  And better still, he thinks that it's almost done. There's a 2nd person who expressed interest, so maybe I can get a team together to get this really going.  I think this should be big priority for us for the spring.
