Hi,

I won't be here on Friday... But it would be great if someone could cover the Oaxaca demo on Dec 22. See below:

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION FOR OAXACA

The people of Oaxaca, Mexico have given the rest of the world an example of how to organize and resist. For months their struggle has taken the form of popular assemblies and self defense against the brutal Mexican government and its paramilitaries. Though attention was drawn to the situation because of the death of a US journalist, this struggle has existed for over 500 years. Indigenous people in Oaxaca, Chiapas, and all over the world are rejecting the dysfunctional systems of capitalism, imperialism, governance and patriarchy. The widely respected Zapatistas have called upon us, the people of the world, to show our solidarity with this resistance. Specifically, they have declared FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22 an international day of action for OAXACA.

In response to this call, people here in Boston are organizing.

 DEMONSTRATION in Solidarity with OAXACA
THIS FRIDAY, December 22 *meet at noon*
at the Mexican Consulate (20 Park Plaza, Boston)
near the Arlington T Stop -Green Line

 Can't make it at noon?

 SECOND DEMONSTRATION

We are also calling for direct actions throughout the Boston area as you see fit.

"For the living reappearance of the disappeared, for the freedom of the detained, for the exit of Ulises Ruiz and the federal forces from Oaxaca, for the punishment of those guilty of torture, rape and murder." - EZLN
