hi guys,

Ok, we need help. I've been trying but can't keep up with all the trolling going on on the site, particularly from flipside... I don't want to zero down on just him because I know that there are others as well. Yet, last night he posted an article trying to tie Chicago Indymedia with the EFL. Not sure how long the post was there, long enough that there were 18 posts to it. This is no light issue, of course, given the recent FBI's repression of the environmental groups and such...

So, I would like to add Alex, a friend of mine to the editorial group, and give him training on how to edit the site.

He is a wonderful person and also wrote a feature for us:
  http://boston.indymedia.org/feature/display/45520/index.php

He visits the site quite often and sends emails to the Boston IMC office email once in a while to let me know about stuff that should be deleted from the site.

I guess our policy so far has been to require people to be BIMC members for at least 2 months to be added to the editorial list. I would like to make an exception in this case because we really need the help an Alex is willing to help with editorial but not "that" interested in coming to our meetings (hopefully, eventually he will). Moreover, I really trust that he would do a good job.

What we can do is ask him to *not* center articles for a while until he becomes familar with IMC policy, but just help us keep the site clean. What do you guys think?

  peace,
  Sofia
