[IMC-Boston-Editorial] General Meeting Minutes 05/07

Here are the Meeting Minutes for 05/07:

- Meeting Times: 
We discussed the possibility of floating the meeting
to Mondays or Wednesdays to improve attendance. Seems
like Monday is a good day.  Sofia will check w/LPC for
meeting space. Please send us your comments about
whether Monds. or Weds would be good...

- Funds: 
We now have $1,064 in our bank account, minus around
$60.oo for a 2-month phone bill, and $74.oo for our
outreach mailing. Jamie will send thank you notes to
our sponsors.

The group agreed on spending about $50.oo on printing
our new BIMC posters. We will use the posters to
fundraise as well by selling them at
tablings/events/etc.

- Phone:
Our phone is finally up and running. Jamie gave us a
report on all the phone calls we've been receiving
including a request from Wesleyan Univ. for an
internship program...

- Outreach:
Sofia reported we successfully finished our first
mailing to about 10 Universities in the area
(communications/journalism programs). We will do
another one at the end of the summer. 

- Fundraising:
We did some brainstorming on a future fundraiser for
the IMC. Ideas floated around about a party, a bowling
party, a games party, and a speaker event. We have set
a tentative target date of mid or end of July.

We also discussed about building a donor list for
individual donations. No real specifics on this one
yet.

- Editorial:
We briefly discussed editorial policy. Welcomed Mike
and Alex (in absentia) into the editorial group.

- Announcements:
I forgot to mention that sharpie flew to Jordan on
Sunday... We should make sure to center one of his
articles to promote the cause while he's there. See:

might not know who sharpie is.
