Hello everyone!!
So, a quick synopsis of the "i" screening this past weekend for those who didn't make it: There were a good 20 people in attendance, mostly from the Boston Bolivarianos and SMUJP group, despite the rain. The producers were pleased. The movie itself was a bit chaotic (in their words) but good. And now we own a copy so we can show it again later...
We made $40.oo minus $30.oo for "renting" the Mobe projector... So, yes, that's $10.oo and a free movie. We're rich!
I also ran into Jamie who said that the speaker event about the Boston Delegation to Palestine was "co-opted" by the Boston Palestine group. Not surprising since they organized the delegation to begin with... So I doubt we'll be doing this event although Jamie knows more about this than I (and chiquito! you should tell them to advertise their future events on Indymedia!!).
BUT, since we're dying to do an event, sell our posters (in the works by Sam, thank you!!), and party a bit more before the winter grips us with its cold tentacles, I thought we could run a Radical Film Festival for a weekend. What do you guys think? We could charge $7.oo at the door for "all the films you can see in a day." Sell popcorn and drinks. I have TONS of movies at home, but I'm sure we could get a hold of some other classics like the Revolution Will Not Be Televised and such.
And CHENEY, yes. He's coming this Friday to Boston. Big protest expected. We need all the journalists we can get for the day... Jonathan is taking pics. I'm taking a video camera. I wouldn't mind if someone else writes an article on it or brings a recorder for audio... Someone could also write a step-by-step summary of events on the razorwire from their home/office. If interested, contact me...
