 Wednesday September 20th, 2006

People present: Jonathan, Sofia, Michael, Sophie
  
 
*INDYMEDIA 2- DAY FILM SCREENING AS FUNDRAISER:
 Sofia talked about planning a filming of radical videos in late October. It would take place for 6 or 8 hours during both days. We could ask for a donation at the door, provide food and beverages, and show Indymedia videos in between other radical work. 
  
 *FUNDRAISER:
 Michael also suggested a bowling night as a way to raise funds for Boston Indymedia
  
 * EDITORIAL POLICIES:
 We talked about Editorial policies, now that we have new editors in the group. We stressed our policy on hiding/deleting.
  
 * COVERING EVENTS
 Jonathan and Sofia expressed their concerns: we need to go beyond covering protests and cover community issues. The Idea is to reach out to known community groups (i.e. The Boston workers alliance) so they can keep us informed of their struggles and issues for the site. 
 Every member should try to get in touch with community groups in their neighborhood: let them know who we are and that we'd love to report on them.
  
 * EXPOSING INDYMEDIA VIDEOS
 Jonathan suggested we post Indymedia videos on youtube, google video and other sites to expand the reach we have.
  
 * DISPATCH LIST
 Sofia suggested we need to make better use of the Dispatch list: make less as an announcement one and more of an exchange of ideas list.

* WEBSITE
 Sofia explained to newcomers how editing works.
 We discussed what we would like to see more- community accountability: 

* BUSINESS CARDS: 
 Jonathan designed b-cards for the BIMC, which could be easily printed on a home printer w/card stock. Anyone interested should contact him directly with their info (name, email address, title)  to but on the cards.
 
* POSTERS: 
 Sam is still working on them. Sofia needs to send him a higher resolution image

* INDYMEDIA WORKSHOPS: 
 Sofia talked about what kind of workshops we should conduct. Jonathan proposed a  video editing  one.
