See below meeting minutes for our gathering this past Tuesday.  Our next meeting is TBA--we need a new place to meet.  Anyone generous enough to offer us their home, let us know.

PAPER PRODUCTION DEADLINE
 
We have a target deadline for the paper!! OCTOBER 13TH, one day after Columbus Day (what in Latin America we call "Dia de la Raza"). All story entries must be in by October 8th.  
 
AD PROMOTION
We've collected an awesome initial list of ad sponsors. Sofia's working on a database for them. Tim will be working on designing a rate card. We hope to have ad packages ready by the end of the week in order to start promotion.
 
JOBS OPEN
Remember that the following jobs are still open. Please contact us if you are intersted in leading any of them:
- Tabling Coord.
- Editing Coord.
- Fundraising Coord.
- Boston Media Convergence Coord. (Josh & Sofia volunteered to help)
- Art designers to work in the Art Design team
 
T-SHIRTS
We have kicked out our T-shirt design contest. See Boston Indy's web site for more info. Please help circulate by picking up flyers from the office. Sofia's finalizing prices for US/union-made t-shirts.
 
BANDS FOR INDYMEDIA
We brainstormed possible bands to contact, such as: Third Eyed Productions, The Foundation, Sunbird Han and the Man, Mango Blue.  Pete will also ask Petrina about other bands.
 
VIDEO
We're researching videos that we could re-sell at our tabling, such as The Miami Model.  Tim will follow up with a few contracts.
 
GRANTS
Pete gave updates on applying to grants with Haymarket and Peace Development.  Other grants, such as Media Justice, have a January deadline.  Another possibility is a fiscal sponsor such as UCMC (Urban & Champaine).
 
TABLING
Our tabling event at the World Peace Concert, MIT, was a total success.  We signed up 24 new Indy volunteers and made wonderful new contacts. Special thanks goes to Petrina, Josh, Abigail, Pete, and Sofia for tabling at the event.  A few new things we brainstormed about including in future tablings: a big container to hold all materials, a banner (we discussed painting it ourselves), stickers w/t-shirt logo, magnets, fake tatoos...
 
FREE MOVIE PASSES
Russ is looking into getting free movie passes for future movie reviews. That should give us first dips into political/social films we might want to feature on the paper.
 
BOSTON MEDIA CONVERGENCE
We discussed a tentative date of December 1st. We hope to hold at the office with alternative local magazines and newspapers.  If you are interested in participating or coordinating the event, please let us know. Discussion on details was tabled for a later TBA meeting.
