hey video folks, this has been sent out to the newswire from the DNC
Medical Organizing Committee, I wanted to pass it on to all of you so that
you can read this, please take this to heart and remember it in regards
to actions on the street. The Medics are our friends, we don't want to
upset them, neither do we want to upset or alienate the public and the
people on the street.

Media and street medics often have conflicting priorities at political
demonstrations. We would like to explain our perspective on the presence
of media when we are providing care to ill or injured people.
We do our best to create a safe space for medical treatment on the street.
Media presence attracts crowds, and sometimes reporters and photographers
interfere with our ability to provide care.

In addition, concern about media and crowds may prevent people from
seeking medical attention, especially if they see other injured people
being photographed or interviewed while they are receiving medical care.
Therefore, even if the person we are treating consents to photographs or
an interview, we request that any media coverage be done before or after
we have provided care.

We support your commitment to reporting political dissent and police
brutality. We must balance this with our commitment to patient
confidentiality.

Thank you for your consideration,
Street Medics from the DNC Medical Organizing Committee
